Dr Winnie

(Owner and Vet)

I am Dr Winnie and I am the new owner of Kloof Road Animal Clinic. As I embark on this journey, I am very excited and eager to meet all who walk through our doors and warmly welcome you to our veterinary practice.

I’ve been an animal lover from a very young age and also have an intense passion for wildlife. In my free time I try to go to the bush as much as possible and really enjoy photography, birding as well as learning about all different aspects of the bush.

With my childhood drive to help animals, I decided to study veterinary science and in 2018 I completed my degree. I further developed my zeal when I worked at The Penguin Rehabilitation Centre, The Southern African Foundation for the Conservation of Coastal Birds as well as the Walmer Animal Welfare Society. These experiences added another spectrum to what I already had learnt as a student.

Our aim at Kloof Road Animal Clinic is to ensure that both you your fur babies are met by our friendly and loving staff and are offered only the best service and care. We look forward to our journey together.

Wendy

Clinic Manager

As many of you may already know, my name is Wendy and I am the practice manager at Kloof Road Animal Clinic.

My journey in the veterinary field began as a child. I spent many hours, during school holidays, volunteering at Animals In Distress, where I spent most of my time working in their small veterinary clinic. From my experience working with animals, my love for the industry flourished and I began working as a kennel technician at Panhandle Animal Welfare Society in Florida, USA. There I gained some experience in veterinary nursing, and realised my true passion. Most recently I have completed my veterinary assistance course and am eager to use my new skills to assist your fur babies. I have worked at various clinics since my return to South Africa, but I'm proud to call Kloof Road Animal Clinic my second home! I have been part of the Kloof Road Animal Clinic since 2007 and have loved every part of the journey so far.

I look forward to our new venture with you all, and welcome Dr Winnie with open arms.

Dr Leigh

Veterinarian

I am Dr Leigh Kymdell-Nel and I have been living my dream of being a vet for 10 years. I have always wanted to work with animals since I was a kid. I love working with all kinds of pets, even those with feathers or scales. I have a Boutique Pet Hotel of my own in Benoni called The Robin House that I have built with my amazing husband. I am an artist as well and love spending time painting, drawing, baking, cooking and fueling my succulent plant obsession. I look forward to my future at KRAC and getting to know all our wonderful clients and most of all their adorable pets.

Lexi

Receptionist

My name is Lexi and I have been working at Kloof Road Animal Clinic as a receptionist for nearly 8 years now.

I have always had a passion for animals and thus really enjoy and take pride in the environment that I get to work in. I thoroughly enjoy interacting with all the clients that come in and being able to love on all their fur children with cuddles and treats.

My journey so far has been filled with much joy and I look forward to helping and getting to know all the past and new clients that come through our doors.

Eddie

Kennel Hand

My name is Edward, but everyone calls me Eddie. I work at Kloof Road Animal Clinic as a veterinary assistant as well as a kennel hand.

Back in 2009 my passion for animals was sparked when I took a job at Lucky Dogs and Cats. I took the opportunity given to me and learned everything I could about all the animals I was working with.

I joined the KRAC family in 2012 and have loved every minute here and have continued to grow my knowledge in the veterinary field. It is my privilege to engage with all the fluffy ones who come through our doors. I am really blessed to be part of this family and look forward to the years to come.

Greg

Kennel Hand

I am Greg and I started working at Kloof Road Animal Clinic back in 2001. It really has been a positive and exciting journey and I have learned so much and grown my knowledge about cats, dogs and birds hugely.

I have a real soft spot for big dogs and I love getting to know each of their individual personalities.

I look forward to continuing to working with my KRAC family.
